April 28 is both World Day for Safety and Health at Work and Workers’ Memorial Day. Both events are dedicated to looking at our past in order to plan for and create a safer future. We hope that you will join us in remembering those who lost their lives on the job, as well as take time to reflect on how far the safety profession has come and how much work there still is to do.

The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) and the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) have formed a collaborative partnership to improve safety and health performance at workplaces throughout the United States and Canada.

BCSP has announced it will join the National Safety Council (NSC) task force to support the SAFER: Safe Actions for Employee Returns initiative – a comprehensive, multifaceted plan developed to guide employers through the process of safely resuming traditional work and operations now and in a post-pandemic environment.

The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC of America) has called on members across the country to hold a nationwide Coronavirus Safety Stand Down at job sites on Thursday, April 9, 2020.

BCSP examCORE is an interactive, online pre-exam training program that provides safety, health, and environmental (SH&E) practitioners a means to build the knowledge and skills necessary for BCSP certification, covering the topics identified as essential by industry leaders.

CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional members of FPA provide a 20 percent discount to BCSP certification holders on their first-year financial planning fees.

To meet these growing demands, BCSP is currently developing recertPRO, an online, subscription-based program that combines several methods of achieving recertification for BCSP certifications into one easy-to-use platform.

BCSP has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and is aware of the ways in which it has negatively impacted our certificants’ ability to earn recertification points. In response to this, BCSP is making the examCORE program available for certificants to earn recertification points.
